Joe Lynn Turner  "Hurry Up and Wait" - by Claudia
Ehrhardt

The first impression... This sounds like old Deep Purple / Rainbow
The opening track of Hurry Up And Wait is called No Room For Love and a heavy rock song in the tradition of the above mentioned band.
So, what to expect from Joe Lynn Turner these days? Melodic neo-classical metal and more.
Mr. Turner was part of Rainbow and so it’s no surprise that his music has similarities, coz he loved the music of that band.
On most songs you hear Paul Morris on keyboards, Greg Smith on bass and on the drums Kenny Kramme.

On the opening track as well as on Guilty Heart, Shine On, Days Of Rage, We Will Survive and Can’t Face Another Night Savatage guitarist Al Pitrelli is playing the six-strings. Btw, on Guilty Heart which is a heavy, balladesque song with a catchy chorus Al Pitrelli’s counter part on the guitar Chris Caffery (Savatage) is adding a solo.
On the other tracks the guitar is played by Tony Bruno.
The ballad Shine On is the bonus track on European edition, it’s a powerful song with a bluesy feeling.
And with Blueprint For The Blues he has a real blues rock track on the album.
But with The Game Of Rock’n’Roll he returns to the heavy rock.
That one will make you move and it keeps spinning in your head, a sing along tune.
If you expect that Sentimental is a ballad, then you are wrong! It’s a hard rocking song with heavy guitars and pounding bass.
With Someday he has a kind of ballad on the disc, it has the atmosphere of a ballad, but musically it’s more powerful. At the end you’ll get the ballad most of you’re waiting for!

The album was recorded at the Unique Recording Studios in New York City and is produced by Bob Held and Joe Lynn Turner.
Bob Held and Al Pitrelli co-wrote some songs, but JLT also worked with other song writers like Al Greenwood and Jim Pet
erik.
The album has a large variety within the genre which might is caused by the different personalities who were involved in the song writing and recordings.
